Culture makes people understand each other better. And if they understand each other better in their soul, it is easier to overcome the economic and political barriers. In my view, they have to understand that their neighbour is, in the end, just like them, with the same problems and the same questions.
Family, society and the environment where the child grows play an important role in his life. Parents teach their child to behave decently from childhood and make sure that he follows it promptly. During his growth, he adopts many techniques to behave in a manner and thinks that he is a suitable person in a community. Adolescence alters his attitude tremendously. Naughtiness, intelligence and mental maturity make him appear differently in a society. In fact, it also depends on the parents’ attitude how they deal with their child at this stage.
Peer groups will influence the teenager in various ways. He gets inspiration from his fellow students and tries to show his behavioural change. Besides, he is attracted by media and societal customs, culture and traditions. We do not feel that he should not follow western culture. He adopts a life style according to his time and place. It is a way of his living. Modern dresses, junk food, films, art, dance and literature become his passport to the world today.
Are the teenagers and adults given more freedom today? It’s a question which makes us think a lot about their life style today. We expect respect, values and responsibility from the future citizens. It is possible when they are counseled and guided in a right path. They should be given a room to think and lead a valuable life. How is it possible? Do people spend their little time to think and understand their mind?
Parents live with their children under the same roof for a long time and often fail to understand their interests, attitude and culture of their son/daughter. Furthermore, they behave like strangers. They design their child in a way that they grew up and learned things in their childhood. Is it possible to see the same attitude in their children?
As the generation changes, the attitude, interests, life style, habits and culture of people also change a lot!
“We seldom realize that our most private thoughts and emotions are not actually our own. The languages and images that we did not invent were given to us by our society.”
It is the high time that we need to look into this matter and mould the new generation so that they step into a new life which makes them peaceful and joyous beings in the society.
“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people.”
